screw the afternoon!
Hit up Pipes this morning before work on the Fusion.
Some nice 2-3 wave sets in the general waist/nipple high range were rolling in with glassy conditions. A group of about 8 obvious regulars and a couple of random folks were all vying for the variety that was coming in sporadically. The regs were all 50+, there was a lot of grey 'n' hairless out there! I sidled up on the fringes and kept a smile on my face, allowing them to catch the first few waves after I got out there to diffuse any resentment. Eventually I eased myself into center peak, took a nice left, walked it up, walked it back into a big cutback, then back to the nose and kicked out at the last gasp near shore. Paddled out again giving wide berth (reminded to do so by my last visit here by the unfinished ding repair on the nose of the Fusion), and let a few more go by. I eventually chatted up a couple of the dudes when the topic turned to the fires burning that killed those poor firemen (thanks and respect). Kept the good vibes up and caught enough to send me off to work stoked and the lineup members feeling un-encroached.
Came into work and Spork gave me his recently re-acquired 10'2" Takayama Model T, which he has requested I ride and give feedback on. Made another trip seaside at lunch, but the form was not happening. Hung out and chatted with Spork.
Sporks board goes to glassing today. I worked late doing a sand and polish on a very nice Willis Brothers gun (they glass their stuff with us, check out Willis Bros ) so I didn't get a chance to start it last night...
Also, Luna Surf sent me some rad Photoshop logos and ads, which I'll post as soon as I can... Thanks Luna!

I thought Spork was your nickname for the picklefork board! - you know, like the sporks at fast food joints.
ha! no, the pickle fork was dubbed "the eyesore", spork is my bud from work... the eyesore is up for sale, BTW...
